🌲 Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? If you predicted anything.
I think a little more? Part of me expected to write no fic lol, I really needed a break from turbo fest year

🌲 What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January, and was it as unpredicted as this entire year?
HK ACTOR SONS. and maybe RTK groups, especially VERIVERY. HK actors definitely, for kpop I've accepted that I'm always one compilation away from getting into a new fandom

🌲 What’s your own favourite story of the year? Compared to overall?
VERIVERY witches 🥺 or mirror, mirror mostly because both of them were truly passion projects and last year didn't really... have those

I could do with appreciating my own fics more honestly

Wrote!! Porn!! Crash landed into a new fandom with tentacles flying everywhere. Also blood lol thanks Azca

Friends 🥺 Other than that, proobably Road to Kingdom? And ATEEZ's general existence

Pls for the love of god finish one (1) WIP rotting away in the wip dungeon

HAH. I can't decide if it was circumstances or getting used to smaller quantities of fic, or both but I am fucking drained

I think maybe ashes in the sun mostly because I spent too long agonizing over plot to not put it here

🌲 Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I still believe my stories are doing relatively good considering their context, but I do wish more people paid attention to VERIVERY au lol

VERIVERY au aka ashes in the sun at the whooping 21913, finished in the very last moments of 2020 hah

🌲 Most fun story to write:
Once again a toss between ashes in the sun and mirror, mirror, they were so fun to think about on the way to work <3

🌲 Story that needed the most research:
on timing hah sorry Van. Also would've prob perished in the process if it wasn't for Isa

🌲 Story with the single sexiest moment:
Um. Well. I'd say maybe Yunho realizing he's making out with the wrong Seonghwa in mirror, mirror? Or like. Seonghwa squared making out. What's better than Seonghwa? Two Seonghwas

🌲 Story with the single cutest/sweetest moment:
Oddly enough I haven't written all that many cute stuff this year? But I'm partial to Hakyeon staying behind to make sure Taekwoon won't spend New Year's eve working from winter magic

🌲 Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story:
This makes it sound like I write a lot of questionable things, which is not the case, but the entirety of a rose by any other name lol. Or a few scenes in VERIVERY au but those are depressing, not questionable

🌲 Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Neither of the posted ones (at least not in a meaningful way) but wip dungeon resident "rockband au" has been doing a bit of that

🌲 Hardest story to write:
Probably kitty favors because I lost motivation halfway through

🌲 Biggest disappointment:
I'm not allowed to have bad thoughts about my writing

🌲 Biggest surprise:
I wrote a Homestuck au!!!!! Also the entire existence of VERIVERY au. And also tentacles. And uhh a rose by any other name. There were a lot of surprises this year, who knew I'm actually a drama queen at heart

Probably winter magic

✿ Favourite Opening Lines: ✿

As much as Seungjoon enjoys playing an oblivious goof, he likes to think he's pretty good with subtlety. Recognizing the real hints versus the version played up for the cameras. They all have to be, to survive in a world dead set on ripping away every semblance of a normal life from them.

✿ Favourite Closing Lines: ✿

It becomes his business on a cold spring night, when both Minchan and Hoyoung disappear at sunset, only to return in the early hours of the morning, eyes empty and covered in blood. For the second time in his life, Dongheon sees red in Hoyoung’s eyes. It’s a stark contrast against the brown one but he finds he loves it all the same.

He’s extra careful with wiping the blood off and even more so with Hoyoung’s tears afterwards.

✿ Favourite lines from anywhere: ✿

Friends, Wooyoung’s brain supplies unhelpfully, slashing right through the butterflies taking flight in his stomach. Their little hopeless bodies cover the ground and Wooyoung smiles in that way he has perfected since he was a child. It makes Jongho frown but Wooyoung soldiers on, fluttering his eyelashes hard enough that he knows it’ll earn him a laugh and maybe a shoulder slap. He can provide nice. The butterflies, he can deal with later.

I wrote both more and less than I anticipated but I'm quite happy with what it is. I do wish I appreciated the stories more, though
